FROST # 01

For the first edition we are pleased to invite Brussels-based and Swiss artist David de Tscharner who fabricated 90 new Plexiglas sculptures in response to the following constraints:

-The works have to fit inside a suitcase of 70 x 46 x 26 cm.
-The works are made in connection to the only precise information the artist received on the location of the exhibition, namely its name “Frost”.
-The limited duration of the show implies a more performative approach, thus the audience is invited to manipulate the works and to recreate new combinations. Visitors can take one or more sculptures home with them straight away by purchasing them by weight.

Born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1979, David de Tscharner graduated from the art schools ESBA in Geneva and La Cambre in Brussels in 2005, where he teaches now. He participated in many exhibitions in France, Belgium and Switzerland. Next at Galerie Albert Baronian Brussels in 2009, One Sculpture a Day at Aliceday Gallery Brussels in 2012, Fantasmagorie at Frac des Pays de la Loire Nantes in 2014 and les Ambassadeurs at Galerie Escougnou-Cetraro Paris are among his noticeable solo shows. Art director of the magazine Code between 2005 and 2010, he also collaborates with artists like Florence Doléac, Benoît Platéus and Jean-Baptiste Bernadet.
